Barkly Homestead is West of Mt Isa over the border into the Northern Territory. If your travelling to to jabaru, Katherine or Darwin, chances are depending which way you go, the Barkly Homestead will be on your travels if your coming from Qld..

If you have had a long day and would like to give the cooking a miss for the night, try the cafe or even better the home style meals in the resturant. There is a bar and entertainment room with plenty of seating for all the family. During peak times the homestead may also have live entertainment.

Fuel is about $0.50c per litre dearer than your city type prices, but your along way from any cities !

Barkly Homestead is a Diesel powered station so expect to pay a little more for everything, personally i thought everything was pretty reasonable considering everything that was on offer. You can still find a quiet little camp site yet a couple of hundred metre walk and you can have all the modern convienences at your fingertips. You can also get 3G here as well.
